Our First Egg!
Have I mentioned we have chickens? well in case I haven't mentioned it I will tell you now. We have Chickens! 5 to be exact. My Mom got the kids their chickens for east this year and we raised them from little peeps.
The boys and I have been going out daily to feed them. water, and clean their pen and the boys faithfully have been checking for an egg. "no egg today" they would say. It was so sweet. So the expression on their faces this evening when FINALLY they spotted our first egg was priceless. They were both so overjoyed and excited they had to take turns holding it and taking a picture with it. After awhile colton thanked the chickens for "pooping him an egg"
It took me quite awhile for them to put it down actually. I was quite afraid we would have a messy handed little boy when he fell with it in his hand. I am happy to report that did not happen.
Our first egg was a white one. I am looking forward to seeing more in the days/weeks to come. and maybe in a week or so actually eat an egg as I have been told you need to wait a week after they start laying to eat the eggs.

Christmas 2012
Christmas is over.
Happy (our elf) has went back to the north pole for another year. we have had all of our festivities and opened all our gifts and my house.. well now its a disaster.
We had a wonderful Christmas here. The kids got all the gifts on their list and mommy got more than I was ever expecting. I got a new laptop to help with all my blogging needs from my sweet adoring husband and a beautiful necklace. My family got me a keurig, an cup organizer and some cups to go with it. yay.
Next year I think we will be doing a gift limit. we have so much stuff in our house its crazy right now. I will be organizing till summer.
I feel so blessed for all that we have and were able to provide. I am lucky I was able to spend some time with our family.

Visit with Santa.
Good Morning. Last evening we had our annual visit to Santa. The mall of course was bananas! I'll definitely be doing the majority of the rest of my shopping online. I thought what a great way to be in the Christmas spirit but was actually ripped back into reality once stumbling upon no parking and rude strangers. We decided we were just going to go in see Santa and leave. Santa ended up being on break when we arrived so we were forced to do a small bit of window shopping. We set out to a small primitive shop and got a few gifts. we got in line and Santa came back. Very thrilled that all three kids liked Santa (no crying fits here). This mall Santa was actually a really great one. He talked to the kids and asked them what they wanted. The of course replied with their favorite two gifts that we told them they could ask Santa for. It was our middle son C that surprised both mommy and daddy by telling him a "skate board" he never once mentioned this. not while writing his Santa letter or even the many conversations on what the kids wanted.
We quickly left said mall and went out to eat and eventually made our way to the light display which was the high light of our evening. there's something magical about seeing Christmas through the eyes of a child. I have to say the holidays are much more fun experiencing it with my little ones.
