Weight Loss

I gained a total of 50 lbs with the pregnancy of our last child. Our son was born weighing in close to 9lbs. I thought for sure that weight would go away but sadly the baby weight just hung around. hung around my thighs, my hips, and waist. I lost about another 9 lbs breast feeding and natural post pregnancy weight loss. around the mark of his first birthday (july 2012)  I said enough was enough. I hadn't lost any weight and to be honest I wasn't really trying all that hard to either.
I wanted to lose weight and I wanted to do it a healthy way. I looked around and I decided on weight watchers. I didn't have the time to devote to going to the meetings but I did decide to buy a kit and did it from home. myself. We did a weekly weigh in and everything was going smoothly. I was feeling better. I was eating better. and the weight was coming off. I was once again able to wear clothes I hadn't since I got pregnant.

With the hoidays I regret to say that I haven't stayed on track with my weight watchers. since thanksgiving I've actually ate whatever and however often I wanted. I haven't gained any weight that I know of back but I can feel it take a toll on my health. I feel sluggish and my immune system is in the toilet. I need to get back to eating right. if not for my weight loss journey but also for mine and my families health. since they eat what I do. I will hopefully be posting some healthy recipes to share with everyone.

Christmas 2012

Christmas is over.
Happy (our elf) has went back to the north pole for another year. we have had all of our festivities and opened all our gifts and my house.. well now its a disaster.

We had a wonderful Christmas here. The kids got all the gifts on their list and mommy got more than I was ever expecting. I got a new laptop to help with all my blogging needs from my sweet adoring husband and a beautiful necklace. My family got me a keurig, an cup organizer and some cups to go with it. yay.

Next year I think we will be doing a gift limit. we have so much stuff in our house its crazy right now. I will be organizing till summer.

I feel so blessed for all that we have and were able to provide. I am lucky I was able to spend some time with our family.
so MERRY CHRISTMAS from our family to yours!

Visit with Santa.

Good Morning. Last evening we had our annual visit to Santa. The mall of course was bananas! I'll definitely be doing the majority of the rest of my shopping online. I thought what a great way to be in the Christmas spirit but was actually ripped back into reality once stumbling upon no parking and rude strangers. We decided we were just going to go in see Santa and leave. Santa ended up being on break when we arrived so we were forced to do a small bit of window shopping. We set out to a small primitive shop and got a few gifts. we got in line and Santa came back. Very thrilled that all three kids liked Santa (no crying fits here). This mall Santa was actually a really great one. He talked to the kids and asked them what they wanted. The of course replied with their favorite two gifts that we told them they could ask Santa for. It was our middle son C that surprised both mommy and daddy by telling him a "skate board" he never once mentioned this. not while writing his Santa letter or even the many conversations on what the kids wanted.

We quickly left said mall and went out to eat and eventually made our way to the light display which was the high light of our evening. there's something magical about seeing Christmas through the eyes of a child. I have to say the holidays are much more fun experiencing it with my little ones.

Day 1 Menu Planning for this busy house..

jenniferamiedesigns
sitting down to menu plan for the next week. I am new to menu planning. I have tried it before and it lasted about 1 time than I gave it up. It really does help to stay organized, saves time, and saves money. first thing is first though, figuring out what I want to cook on what days I have the time for each recipe. since it is my first time running through I think I will stick with some classics. Spaghetti/pork chops/ baked chicken. easy peasy kinda stuff.

Next make my shopping list. Check what I already have and compare that with the recipes and mark off anything I already have. While making my list I put "veggie" in with most of my  and than checked the freezer and cabinet for what I had on hand. next time I find a great deal I'll stock up again.

Finally there is the trip to the store. Which I am about to accomplish when my husband wakes up. I don't want my first trip to the supermarket be tainted with the hecticness (that's a word? right?) of taking the boys.
