Facebook Break!

1 month ago I decided to give up facebook for lent. It was becoming a pretty time consuming part of my life. I have to say it almost like an addiction. First thing when I woke up I would get a cup of coffee and set down with my laptop for some facebook time, and it was usually the last thing I would see on my phone before bedtime. Facebook was taking away my time with my children, my husband, and my god! Honestly, I had enough of the drama I would see. The comparison I would make, between my life and others. I just needed a break. period. I now spend that morning cup of coffee over my bible. I now spend those last seconds before sleep, cuddling my husband. spending time looking at people while we are out to eat instead of at my phone (so bad). I have actually started texting friends and even talking to them ON the phone and planning to meet up IN PERSON. lol.

I have to say, I don't miss it near as much as I thought I would. At first it was kind of like a bad habit to break. Now I don't even notice I don't have it, till someone says "did you see what she put on facebook?" and then I proudly say "no, no I didn't." I probably should have gave my friends on FB a heads up because I have actually been stopped in the store with "are you mad at me?" thinking I blocked them on facebook, I then explain why I got rid of it *for awhile*. Some totally understand, some look at me like I have 2 heads and just give me that "oh ok".  Family members have messaged my mom and asked "is everything ok with them?!"  My husband is adamantly against facebook, therefor mine is the only means of updates from our homestead. Its actually seems crazy to me that the norm is to live life vicariously through facebook.

I don't miss the drama.
I don't miss, missing time with my family because I'm checking my phone.
I don't miss listening to people complain.
I don't miss the time suck.

I do miss staying in touch with some friends.
I do miss all the mom groups and girls I keep in contact with only on facebook.
THAT IS ABOUT IT!
